A Natural Approach to Mental Wellness
April 19 – May 19, 2024
About the Program
All of us are in the same boat. We could call it the “can’t control the weather” boat, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. The boat we all share is more like the “can’t control much of anything except what I’m doing right now (and even that’s hard to control) boat”.
So given the nature of our lives – what do we need to learn? What skills do we need in order to have the most rich, satisfying, and empowered life? How do we best cope with the out-of-control nature of our lives, given the dreams that we harbor, the obstacles we encounter and the pain we experience?
The Natural Approach to Mental Wellness program is designed to address these questions. It gets to the heart of our human predicament, providing resources and guidance for navigating as skillfully and beautifully as possible, while cultivating personal qualities in the process.
During this month-long program, we will explore how to coexist with our internal experience, work with our attention, live with purpose, develop acceptance and practice self-reflection. The curriculum of the course spans the practical, the psychological and the spiritual. These dimensions are woven together throughout the course in the same way that they are woven together in our real lives. The program is broad enough to be widely relevant, and deep enough to offer new discoveries, as our lives continue to change and unfold over time.
The program includes three different components:
- AN EXPERIENTIAL COMPONENT – through daily personal exercises;
- AN EDUCATIONAL COMPONENT – through supportive readings and resources;
- A COMMUNITY COMPONENT – through the camaraderie of a global online discussion
What You Will Receive
Daily Exercises
These exercises are the heart of the program. They will give you an experiential framework for understanding the principles underlying the Natural Approach to Mental Wellness.
Online Resources
You will have access to stimulating and diverse resources, including video and audio, that will enhance your experience and support your efforts on this path.
Global Community
Our programs reach a worldwide audience. It is not uncommon to have participants from 8 to 10 countries participating in our programs. A strong sense of camaraderie often develops through our online discussion, as participants share their challenges, insights, experiences and wisdom with the group.
Receive either a print or ebook copy of Gregg Kreach’s A Natural Approach to Mental Wellness. This small book is both practical and empowering — a radical departure from traditional models of mental health — which offers us hope that our lives are not determined by a diagnosis.
What You Will Do
With just an average commitment of about 30 minutes per day, this program can have a profound impact on your perspective on life and can help to stimulate meaningful and constructive changes. You will:
-
These program exercises will focus on acceptance, coexisting with feelings, purpose, self-reflection and attention.
Many exercises direct you to reflect on a particular person or theme. Others may direct you to take a specific action that is informed by one of your reflections. Each exercise will fill in another piece of the self-reflection tapestry that you are creating.
-
Share your experiences and questions with the group.
Though this is optional, we encourage you to make your voice heard. You will feel more engaged and connected and will enrich the community discussion. As you will discover, the participants in our programs bring a wealth of wisdom and support with them as they apply the program to their own lives. Many meaningful relationships have developed through our online discussions.
-
Study and reflect on thought-provoking readings.
We have created a diverse collection of readings and resources to enrich and support your experience throughout the month, in addition to the program text, A Natural Approach to Mental Wellness, by Gregg Krech.
